Product Overview

Certain hardware features are available only on specific NSG models. Note that your NSG product may look different from the one depicted below. 

Setup Instructions


Route Power

Connect your 7850 NSG E-200 to the AC Power Supply (110-250V).


Connect WAN

Connect Port 1 to the WAN using an Ethernet cable.

For dual-uplinks, use Ports 1 and 2 to connect to the WAN.

  • Port 1 is a WAN port for the first uplink.
  • Port 2 is a WAN port for a second uplink. In a single-uplink scenario, it may be used as a LAN port.
  • Port 3 to Port 6 are LAN ports after bootstrapping.



For bootstrapping, if Port 6 is blinking, connect the laptop to Port 6. Otherwise, connect the laptop to Port 3.


Final Steps

After bootstrapping, connect devices to LAN Ports using Ethernet cables.

Safety Guidelines

General Safety

  • Keep this equipment away from humidity
  • Put this equipment on a reliable surface during installation. Dropping it or letting it fall may cause damage.
  • Before connecting the equipment to the power outlet, make sure that the voltage of the power source is correct.
  • Position the power cord so that people cannot step on it. Do not place anything over the power cord.
  • Please note all cautions and warnings on the equipment.
  • If the equipment is not used for a long time, disconnect it from the power source to avoid damage by transient over-voltage.
  • Never pour any liquid into an opening. This may cause fire or electrical shock.
  • If one of the following situation arises, get the equipment checked by service personnel:
    - The power or plug is damaged.
    - Liquid has penetrated into the equipment.
    - The equipment has been exposed to moisture.
    - The equipment does not work as expected.
    - The equipment has been dropped and damaged.
    - The equipment has obvious signs of breakage.
  • The sound pressure level at the operator's position according to IEC 704-1:1982 is no more than 70 dB (A).

Operating Safety

  • Electrical equipment generates heat. Ambient air temperature may not be adequate to cool equipment to acceptable operating temperatures without adequate circulation. Be sure that the room in which you choose to operate your system has adequate air circulation.
  • Ensure that the chassis cover is secure. The chassis design allows cooling air to circulate effectively. An open chassis permits air leaks, which may interrupt and redirect the flow of cooling air from internal components.

Static Electricity Prevention

  • Be sure you are at an ESD workstation, or grounded with an ESD strap before opening the top cover or installing/removing any unit accessible from the outside. Doing so will discharge any static electricity that might have been built up in your body.
  • Don't touch any components inside the system while the system is on.
  • Disconnect power before making any configuration changes. The sudden rush of power as you connect a jumper or install a card may damage sensitive electronic components.
  • When unpacking a static-sensitive component from its shipping carton, do not remove the component's antistatic packing material until you are ready to install the component in the unit.
  • When transporting any electrical component, first place it in an antistatic container or packaging.
